Mount Isa Motocross Track Rebuild
Full Throttle Earthworks travelled more than 1,600 kilometres from the Bundaberg region to rebuild the Mount Isa Motocross Club track in Outback Queensland.
The project focused on improving the track's flow, rideability and progression across multiple rider levels, creating a motocross track that could be enjoyed by peewee, junior, beginner, adult and experienced riders.
Completed in August 2026, the rebuild was later featured by The North West Star, highlighting both the scale of the journey and the importance of the upgraded track to motocross in Mount Isa and regional Queensland.

The Build Diary
01 · The journey
More Than 1,600 Kilometres for One Track Rebuild
Full Throttle Earthworks transported the machinery and equipment from our home region near Bundaberg to Mount Isa for the club track rebuild. The long-distance mobilisation formed part of our commitment to delivering specialist motocross track construction and rebuilding services across Queensland and throughout Australia.

02 · The brief
A Better-Flowing Track for More Riders
The goal was to reshape the existing motocross track into a layout with improved flow, rideability and rider progression. The rebuilt track needed to provide an enjoyable experience across different ages, bike sizes and ability levels, from peewee and junior riders through to adults and experienced racers.

03 · The rebuild
Reshaped Through Real Riding Experience
Full Throttle Earthworks rebuilt and reshaped the track using professional earthmoving equipment combined with Adam Thurrowgood's practical motocross riding experience and more than 25 years working with heavy vehicles and machinery.
Every Full Throttle track is shaped around the land, the available space and the riders who will use it. We do not rely on one cookie-cutter track design.

04 · Full Throttle flow
Built From Behind the Controls. Tested From Behind the Handlebars.
Adam assesses the track's rhythm, transitions and rideability throughout the build. Where conditions allow, he test-rides the developing layout so adjustments can be made from a rider's perspective before the project receives the Full Throttle sign-off.

05 · The result
Supporting Motocross in Outback Queensland
The Mount Isa motocross track rebuild was completed on 20 August 2026. The finished project was designed to support the club's riders and contribute to the continued growth of motocross in Mount Isa and Outback Queensland.

We are incredibly grateful to Mount Isa Motocross Club for trusting Full Throttle Earthworks with this rebuild. Seeing riders enjoy a track after the final shaping is the best part of what we do.
